Banyule Council 2025 Proposal to Resurface The Boulevard from Banksia St to Burke Rd Nth

Council Proposal for the Boulevard here Reasons to object to this proposal are because it will:

*Encourage commuter traffic to divert through nearby streets, which in the Burley Griffin Estates are narrow and winding.

*Destroy the rural aspect of The Boulevard.

*Destroy the pedestrian walkway with two-way traffic on sealed services. Pedestrians use The Boulevard because the bikes on the parallel Bike Track along the Yarra often travel at dangerous and intimidating speeds.

*There are no footpaths along The Boulevard for pedestrians to use.

*Wildlife and Horse Stables are a feature of this rural enclave. Speeding cars will destroy an environment that is enjoyed by residents throughout Banyule.

*Older residents walk along The Boulevard to avoid cyclists and commuter traffic. This road will no longer be safe for these residents.

*Despite the Council’s claim that the council border extends to the Yarra River in the map provided(see below) responsibility for the Yarra Flats belongs to Parks Victoria Link here
