
Council Proposal for the Boulevard here Reasons to object to this proposal are because it will:
*Encourage commuter traffic to divert through nearby streets, which in the Burley Griffin Estates are narrow and winding.
*Destroy the rural aspect of The Boulevard.
*Destroy the pedestrian walkway with two-way traffic on sealed services. Pedestrians use The Boulevard because the bikes on the parallel Bike Track along the Yarra often travel at dangerous and intimidating speeds.
*There are no footpaths along The Boulevard for pedestrians to use.
*Wildlife and Horse Stables are a feature of this rural enclave. Speeding cars will destroy an environment that is enjoyed by residents throughout Banyule.
*Older residents walk along The Boulevard to avoid cyclists and commuter traffic. This road will no longer be safe for these residents.
*Despite the Council’s claim that the council border extends to the Yarra River in the map provided(see below) responsibility for the Yarra Flats belongs to Parks Victoria Link here
