After extensive campaigning by locals and supporters to preserve the rural aspect of the area, on 3 AUG 2026, the BCC voted unanimously to block The Boulevard.
Bollards and turnarounds will be constructed at 573 The Boulevard, Ivanhoe E.
This blockage will help maintain the vital environmental corridor along the Yarra River, support the rural aspect and prevent rat-running traffic.
